Wow...Two Months Go By Fast!

It's been a busy two months!  I'd hoped to be updating this more often but vacations and back to school have gotten in the way.  I'm currently in Start The New Year mode, as I'm a teacher and the children start this week.  I've been busy preparing a classroom and getting acquainted with two new classroom aides.
In spinning news: my Tour de Fleece is still on the untouched wheel.  July was really to hot to spin without AC.  Hopefully the cooler September weather will enable me to get back to spinning.
In knitting news: I've finished several shawls, did a bit on a short sleeved sweater for me, have a pair of "Vanilla Socks" on the needles as well as a second Brandywine shawl.
I've rediscovered Etsy and have a knitting bag and a set of stitch markers on the way.  I'll post pictures and links to the stores when they arrive.
Since Fall is my favorite time of year, I'm looking forward to cooler days and lots of knitting time.

Citron progress, Ishbel progress, finished Apron

Busy Sunday

Pepper, BigJ, and I spend most of the evening in the "bomb shelter" which allowed me to be quite productive.  I managed to complete the apron for BigJ's sister, spin for an hour, knit on Ishbel and Citron. I seem to be on a shawl kick; I'm really enjoying knitting them.  I have several that will go with me on our upcoming 10th Anniversary cruise and I think I'm getting ahead on Christmas 2011 knitting.  I also managed to photograph some finished projects.
I anticipate further crafty productivity today since it is the Fourth of July and we will probably hang out in the "bomb shelter" again this evening. Pepper's Thundershirt has been very helpful.  She is much less anxious when wearing it and even sleeps through some of the calmer storms and quieter fireworks.  It was a great investment; well worth every penny (we paid less than $40.00 at a local independent pet shop).

Here It Is....KnittersLife

Welcome to KnittersLife... a blogging experiment where I share the things that are happening in my life.  I am a knitter and spinner, and dabbler in a variety of other crafty adventures.  I am currently also sewing and attempting to design my perfect craft space in the basement.  I am married to a wonderful and very tall man.  BigJ is 6'8" and received his first knit sweater this winter; it took over 14 skeins of yarn and several months of work.  We have a beautiful rescue dog named Pepper who is currently dreading night fall as she is very scared of fireworks.  This will be a very long weekend for all of us.  She typically hides out in the "bomb shelter" somewhere in the basement.  This should give me plenty of quality crafting time while I'm with her in the safe zone.  My current projects include: sewing an apron as a birthday gift for BigJ's sister, knitting two shawls, spinning some beautiful purple/pink fiber, and plotting my crafty space.
